On July 1st, we took an exciting and natural next step in our efforts to become even stronger in our professional activities with a clear ambition to become number one within our field. A new organization with clear roles and focus on excellence and service.
Albina Snacks AB: Will focus on dry roasting, market and sell first class nuts and seeds which we purchase from all over the world to our plant in Helsingborg. We will also continue to sell and pack a wide range of dried fruits, baklawa as well as other exciting delicaties and snacks.

During the month of April two varieties from our Finest Nuts selection were launched on many of IKEA store across Sweden:
A 250-gram bag of Family Mix which is our latest and sharpest combination of nuts with a taste of the Orient and a flair of Småland (Ingvar Kamprad Elmtaryd Agunnaryd, which is situated in Småland). The mix consists of nuts from not less than 4 continents and is a wonderful mix of salty and sweet.
We also launched a 100 gram bag of smoked almonds, which no doubt can be counted as one of our classic favourites.
Agriculture Minister visits our roastery.

During the Tuesday we were visited by Agriculture Minister Eskil Erlandsson who visited the South of Sweden.
Eskil Erlandsson came to discuss the development and potential for the project "fine food Sweden".
A nut-tasting was followed by a tour around the roastery were he saw and tasted fresh roasted pistachio nuts and pumpkin seeds. Please find some related info at local papers.

This year's winner of our popular Recipe Contest during Skånemässan is Calle 9 years, from Höllviken.
Calles recipes, an exotic fruit pie with interesting ingredients such as papayas, apples and pistachios was a clear winner!

As a result of the positive audit result, the BRC certificate for Albina Food has now been issued. This means a very important condition and requirement of our customers has been reached in order to satisfying the taste for safety.
"By putting into place BRC standards in our company we have made an important contribution to ensuring that we can supply faultless nuts to the marketplace and that there is no danger to consumers", said Roy Linqvist, Quality Manager at Albina Food AB.
" Taking Albina Foods increasing export and focus on new markets into consideration, the BRC Certificate is most important. The Certification will no doubt serve as a door opener and will facilitate sales on new markets", said Suzanne Friis, Marketing Manager at Albina Food.
BRC is an international and well acknowledged standard, developed by the British Retail Consortium, BRC which focus on improving the quality, hygiene and product safety in following 6 areas,

This Years Pioneer !

Yesterday Albina Food AB was appointed by the International Association of Entrepreneurs in Sweden (IFS) to this year's pioneer in Skåne.
The price is given to a successful immigrant who has succeeded to build up their own businesses with a strong growth potential as well as a shown innovation within their sector
The awards ceremony will be held on October 14th, 2008 in Stockholm and will take place at the Royal Palace.
The Royal Palace of Stockholm is His Majesty The King's official residence and is also the setting for most of the monarchy's official receptions. The palace is a daily place of work for The King and Queen as well as for the various departments that make up the Royal Court.
The Majesty, King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, will hand the winner a diploma. The Ceremony is followed by a banquet in Stockholm City.
